The overall objective of wood-ni is to raise awareness of the many benefits of using wood products, both from a structural and an environmental point of view.
In an industry which is often dominated by man made building materials such as concrete and steel, wood-ni aim to highlight the many benefits of timber and communicate this to the wider marketplace.
wood-ni aims to promote the many practical and environmental benefits of using wood as both a building and decorative material. By working closely with the Northern Ireland Media we hope to communicate key messages about the unique versitiity and sustainability of wood. We aim to place Wood firmly in the public domain as the only renewable resource for construction. With so many new aspects of timber usage making the timer industry very vibrant, it is also the aim of wood-ni to improve people's knowledge about the new products on the market.
A secondary objective is to ensure that the interests of the Timber Industry in Northern Ireland are protected in legislation and port operations. In addition to this wood-ni will promote high standards of practice to protect not only the suppliers but also the consumers.
wood-ni believes that young people are key to growing the use of timber in Northern Ireland so a further objective is to educate younger generations about the benefits of wood products and give advice on how to utilize it. In addition to growing overall membership we aim to retain wood ni's energy and inititive by encouraging new, young people to come on board the various executive committees. By doing so, we hope that wood-ni will continue to be a forward thinking, pro active and developing organisation.
