Wood Matters 2009 – Innovation in Timber - 9th October 2009
In today’s world there is a whole new emphasis on the use of wood, an emphasis which is being driven by many factors not least of which are climate change and government policies worldwide. However the versatility of wood, particularly in construction, is not always so easily recognised or understood.
The Wood Marketing Federation, together with the Timber Frame Skillnet & COFORD, have therefore combined to arrange a conference which will explore and showcase how timber can be used innovatively in building construction and fit out and in related areas as well as highlighting wood as a carbon store. The conference will be opened by Michael Finneran TD, Minister for Housing and Local Services. He will be followed by expert speakers from the UK, Germany, Canada and Ireland who will discuss international advances in timber usage from engineering, architectural and climate change perspectives.
